[ART] January Art – Ixai Kirache

So it’s been a very long time since I’ve done any real painting. I never seem to make time for it anymore, and it was only through the persuasive words of my proofreader for Chains of Memory that this painting — of his favourite character no less — got done at all.

Academy Engineer Ixai Kirache – Click for Hi-Res

St. Paul’s Academy in London is blessed with a number of incredibly talented individuals. Ixai Kirache is one of them. She has a talent for “figuring out how things work”. As such she is employed as the Chief Mechanic and engineering expert, where she’s quite happy locking herself away from human contact and contemplating technological advances.

What Ixai lacks in manners and etiquette she more than makes up for in skill: without her, it is possible half of London’s mechanical and electrical systems would have fallen into disrepair by now.

[ART] Gaze 2

A while back I worked on a picture I called “Gaze”. I never really finished it properly. The other day I saw a picture of Morrigan and Hawke from the two Dragon Age games by Yamao on DeviantArt, and I knew I had to ...

[GW2] The Tiniest Details

I spent a couple of minutes yesterday watching THIS VIDEO about sound effects in GW2 and how some guy had noticed that when guns in the game fire, ANet have actually got lots of randomised soundbites for shell-casings hitting t...

[ART/GAMING] Aesthetics vs. Graphical Fidelity in MMOs and Beyond

It always amuses me when people talk about how awesome a game looks due to its graphics. Because that isn’t what they mean. A game can have the highest fidelity graphics in existence and not look good. Take Final Fantasy XIV ...
